What does FIERCE Christian living look like?

We are like the paints on the tip of a paint brush, ready to burst forth our destiny when we meet canvas to display an image of color and creativity that emanates emotion and life.

We are a story book on a shelf waiting to be picked up and opened to come alive through a voice where we take a child on a journey of imagination to wonderful places unseen.

We are like a wind chime hanging in a building, unable to reach our full potential for producing sounds until when we are placed outside the walls to have the wind come (the Holy Spirit) and move us so that we yield a beautiful sound that others can hear.

We are like a Broadway production. We practice and practice, but until we have an audience to share our talents with, our work is in vain.

We are like a pitcher of ice cold tea on a hot summer day. We anticipate to be poured into glasses to be consumed providing relief and quenching thirst.

We are like a computer program that has yet to be run to calculate algorithms that will be used in a biological neural network, in a mechanical device that will deliver electrodes contracting the heart muscles, to regulate the beating of the heart, as a heart monitor.

Fierce living is about Christians being a peculiar people defined by love. It is time for us to hold tight to our heritage and life design to set out to move in the world! Let us wait no longer to produce beautiful wind chime sounds out in the open air, to provide relief by quenching thirst, to emanate emotion and life, or to take a child on a journey of imagination to places unseen. Ah, can you hear faint, sweet angelic singing from on high… and they’ll know that we’re Christians by our love, by our love.

Living in the love that we are in Christ, is living a fierce Christian life. It’s a full life. It’s a joyful life. It’s a life that reaches out, transcends boundaries, and yes, sometimes hurts. But it’s a beautiful hurt! As Mother Teresa said, “"I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love."

Folks, I encourage you to make the decision today to work at being a catalyst for change. Become aware of every moment and every decision you make and work to realize your full potential to live a fierce destiny.

Do you feel FIERCE? Are you walking BOLDLY in who you are in Christ? Or do you feel cultural pushes backing you into a corner? Do you see things happening in the world and the neighborhood around you that make your heart hurt? Do you have the courage to respond or voice an opinion on the matter? It is time for us to find our voices. No more silence. We must engage. We must work to make an impact on the world around us. We must be catalysts for change. We must come to take back ground from the enemy.

How do we do all that? Well, that is what our journey is all about. That is what we are here to help do; to support, encourage and equip Christians for FIERCE Christian living.
